The Beach, The Street
A famous street photographer said he’d never seen an interesting photograph taken at the beach. When one lives in coastal California the beach doubles as “the street”. What I mean is, it’s our public space, our Times Square, our Melrose Avenue. It can be an alfresco art gallery, a church, a venue for an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Weddings and workouts take place at the beach. There’s nearly always someone or something to photograph at the beach. Here, a patient photographer can snap a moment in time unlike any other.
