The Beach, The Street

riodelmar2A famous street photographer said he’d never seen an interesting photograph taken at the beach. When one lives in coastal California the beach doubles as “the street”.  What I mean is, it’s our public space, our Times Square, our Melrose Avenue.  It can be an alfresco art gallery, a church, a venue for an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.  Weddings and workouts take place at the beach. There’s nearly always someone or something to photograph at the beach. Here, a patient photographer can snap a moment in time unlike any other.
