On weekends the outside wall of Assistens Kirkegård (Cemetery) in the Nørrebro neighborhood of Copenhagen becomes an impromptu flea market.
Inside many famous and not so famous Danes are buried. Hans Christian Anderson, Søren Kierkegaard and Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg and expatriate American jazz musicians Ben Webster and Kenny Drew are a few of the famous buried in Assistens Kirkegård.
It’s also a beautiful park. Locals come to read, picnic, play with their children and relax.
