Conditions for a South County beach walk were idea this afternoon.The minus tide made for a wide flat beach.Big clouds in the sky added to the beauty of the scene.The reflections in the wet sand were dramatic!
With a little over a week to the California International Marathon Cooper is “tapering”. I was lucky to be his bicycle escort on this ten mile run. It was fun to ride along.
The Gaylor Lakes trailhead is not far from the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite. It’s a short, steep climb to the top. Then a short, steep descent to Middle Gaylor Lake. We only saw two people (from a distance) the entire time we were at the lakes.
We had lunch and walked around both lakes. This is Upper Gaylor Lake. The elevation is over 10,000 feet. I love the desolate but beautiful scene.
