A subway ride away from downtown and off most tourist maps is Marche´d´Antan. A big, crazy indoor flea market.
We spent a morning browsing.
Madame Bijoux’s was a real find. So much stuff, painstakingly arranged.
The merchants were friendly and pleased to chat with a couple of tourists.
One person’s junk is another’s….treasure!

I’m just back from a family vacation to Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai. Hanalei has to be one of the nicer places on the planet. There’s a small town, a picturesque main beach, crystal clear, blue water, and it’s surrounded by dramatic looking, green mountains. Here’s a photo that caught my eye on a first quick edit. I’ll be posting more soon.

Photo shoot on Main Beach. I always get a kick out of watching other photographers at work. Note: the “assistant” is not getting the most out of the reflector. In fact, the direction it’s pointed and the distance she is away from the model make it pretty much useless!

This is a recently completed version of my May 8, 2013 post. Hand colored, it’s more like I imagined it when I made the photo.

We were sitting on the grass in Yerba Buena Gardens, San Francisco last week when a group of young people approached us. “You’re beautiful” they said in unison.
