This is a salt mining area in Las Salinas, Dominican Republic. The place had an empty, post apocalyptic feel that I kind of liked. I made this photo in Fall 2010 and recently did a finished print and hand colored it.

I posted a similar scene on November 9, 2013. That photo was made with a digital camera. This one with a Holga and black and white film. I applied a bit of color with Marshall’s oil paints and pencils. Montreal along the Saint-Lawrence River.
