Miramar RIP

The site of the Miramar seafood restaurant on the Santa Cruz Wharf.
I copied the bit of history below from the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
“The wharf and the fish grotto restaurant have a long history together. At least as early as 1926, the restaurant operated as Ernest’s Fish Grotto. The Miramar name — initially leased as the Mira Mar — dates back to an outdoor wharf cafe opened with that name beginning in 1929. The Marcenaro family, whose name remained attached to the business through its closure, took over the business in 1945 and significantly expanded the site in 1970.”

Photo Safari

Yesterday morning I packed a bag full of cameras and made a photo safari
south to Moss Landing.
It reminded me of my 2008 “Photo a Day” project when I’d take off in the morning
and look for photos. Moss Landing was one of my go to spots.
Moss Landing is such a quirky place. You have agriculture, the harbor, wetlands
and small businesses. There’s always something to photograph.

Mirror Lake

Just back from a quick trip to Yosemite Valley. Winter is the time to visit Yosemite.
The crowds are down and the scenery is spectacular.
