The Southwest

We took a trip to the Southwest (almost to the Haitian boarder) and it looked like this! Bahía de las Ãguilas in Parque Nacional Jaragua is beautiful, remote and uncrowded. This photo is not the result of heavy handed use of Photoshop. That's what it looked like!

Las Galeras

From Las Terrenas we made our way to Las Galeras. Las Galeras was an adventure to get to. The road was one of the worst we traveled on in the DR. If you like out of the way tropical spots, book a ticket ASAP. Small town, beautiful, quiet beach and close proximity to one of the finest stretch of beaches you'll ever see. Really a special place.

Playa Las Terrenas

The beaches on the Samaná Peninsula have the reputation of being some of the best in the Caribbean. We weren't disappointed.

Lake Champlain

I just printed this photo and I was drying it on my t-shirt as I slipped it into the scanner. I guess you could say I was a little excited. Something about the light, water, sky and boats feels like what I was seeing when I clicked the shutter on my Holga.

Roadside Attraction

As far as I know tipis were dwellings used by the Plains Indians. Which is why this geographically and culturally confused tipi, along with "old glory" caught my eye. N. Hero Island VT.
