I went down to watch the annual Wharf to Wharf 10K road race this morning. Arthur was there with his cigar, cinnamon roll and coffee. His 20th year viewing the race action.

Film Screening

Lately, I’ve been organizing a small display/show of my folklorico photographs in support of the premiere of “Mexican Folkloric Dance: Rafael Zamparripa’s Artistic Trademark” a film by Olga Najera-Ramirez.  The screening is Saturday March 6th 7:00 PM at the Humanities Lecture Hall, U.C.S.C.  The photographs will be on display at the Ethnic Resources Centers at U.C.S.C.

Focus

I really enjoy photographing the start of local triathlons. There’s a lot of energy and emotion flying around.  Plus, nobody says “no” to being photographed at these events.  These two photos were taken at the Santa Cruz Triathlon last September.  It was a dark, grey morning.  Looking for something different, I was using way out of date Delta 3200 ASA film and a heavily duct taped Holga.
