When I visit Dad, I like to get up early and walk down to the beach. It never really feels like Orange County to me. There’s a funkiness and some rough edges. It gives me hope!

On the busy westside of Los Angeles, tucked behind the Century Plaza towers, near the Annenberg Space for Photography is a small park. It’s a quiet, peaceful oasis in the midst of Century City. Everytime I visit the Annenberg Space I spend a little time in the park.

On the Governors Island Ferry, headed to the 10th Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party. It was quite a scene. Thousands of people dressed in jazz age fashion, eating, drinking, dancing and being seen on a hot August afternoon. Alice, we’re not in Santa Cruz!
