Portland Light

A quick grab shot while on an evening photo walk. Yes, the sun does shine in Portland.

Smoke Break

I liked the elegance of her hand, the ring and sweater juxtaposed with the cigarette framed by the chain link fence.

I liked the elegance of her hand, the ring, the sweater and the way she held the cigarette. The chain link fence made a nice frame and background pattern.

Crystal Pier, Pacific Beach

Watching the sunset is both a cliche and a big part of beach culture. It had been grey and rainy all afternoon. Just before sunset the rain stopped, the sun popped out and folks made a beeline to the pier. I couldn't resist a snapshot.

Chicano Park

Details from a few of the murals in Chicano Park, Barrio Logan, San Diego. The park is under the Coronado Bridge. It was founded forty years ago after a twelve day protest about the impact building the bridge was going to have on the community. For more information about the park go to: http://www.chicanoparksandiego.com/. Next time you're in San Diego check it out!

Beach Bike

I'm just back from a trip to San Diego. I didn't do a whole lot of photography while I was visiting but I snapped a few pics here and there. This one was taken on the bike, skate, jogging, walking path that runs along Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. I sat on a bench for a long time snapping beach bike photos. I like this one the best.

Portland Cityscape

Waterfront Park, Willamette River and a few of Portland's bridges. It kind of looks old timey.

Street Chess

The chess games at Pioneer Square in downtown Portland can be intense. These guys take their game seriously. Fun to watch and listen to the banter.

4 Snaps from Portland

Like any tourist I like to wander around and snap photos with my point and shoot. Here are four things that caught my eye.

More Portland

This is Dee, short for Delores. I met her Sunday afternoon in downtown Portland. She was smoking and waiting for her laundry and agreed to let me photograph her.

The window seat, baseball cap and black and white vest with the plaid pants caught my eye. Chatting with her was a pleasure.
