The Narrows

In their quick drying, rubberized gear and walking sticks, these two are about to walk up the North Fork of the Virgin River into The Narrows- the narrowest section of Zion Canyon.

Zion National Park

Zion with snow. I felt lucky to be there in this kind of weather.
The snow definitely cut down on the crowds.
The inclement weather added to the overall beauty of the landscape!

Roadtrip 2023

Some roadside attractions from the first couple of days of Roadtrip 2023, Mojave, CA.
Not our motel, Mojave, CA.
Main Street Barstow could use a facelift. Route 66 is looking a little worn.
Funny thing is, the original Del Taco was in Yermo, CA. The Barstow location  is the oldest Del Taco still operating.

Pyramid Lake Overlook

The starkness of the winter landscape caught my eye.

Reno At Night

Downtown Reno is a crazy mix of old motels, empty parking lots,
new buildings and construction, casinos and hidden hip enclaves.
Alice and I wandered around one night, taking in the scene and snapping photographs.
Neon and empty streets!

Reno Road Trip

SR 447 Nevada, the scenic route to Pyramid Lake.
A great day trip from Reno.
Pyramid Lake is the biggest remnant of ancient Lake Lahontan, the enormous inland sea that once covered most of Nevada. The lake is part of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe reservation.

Seattle Mood

This year we got a taste of real Seattle winter weather.
Snow, ice, wind and rain. Never wore my sunglasses. Never applied sunscreen.

Rattlesnake Lake

A drizzly afternoon at Rattlesnake Lake, WA.
It has an otherworldly, apocalyptical look when the water level is low.

Bombay Beach Redux

More public art from Bombay Beach, Salton Sea.
What shall we watch tonight?
The space and apocalyptical look of the Salton Sea area adds to the impact of the art.
The space capsule has landed!
