Raymond

It was a day filled with spectacular surf, high and low tides and perfect Central Coast weather. For me, the highlight of the day was talking with treasure hunter Raymond. Seventy-five years old and as salty as a potato chip, he told a good story. Thanks Raymond!

Copal is the resinous sap of a Mexican tree, burned as incense since the time of the Aztecs. The scent attracts spirits, drawing them home. It is also used to cleanse the area, and to ward off evil.

Jazz Age Lawn Party

On the Governors Island Ferry, headed to the 10th Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party. It was quite a scene. Thousands of people dressed in jazz age fashion, eating, drinking, dancing and being seen on a hot August afternoon. Alice, we’re not in Santa Cruz!
